First of all we would like to introduce ourselves.
We are Sandra & Robert Lieppert and our Australian Shepherds Ranger and Angel.
We live in Oberottmarshausen, a small village near Augsburg.
I’ve always lived on the countryside and fortunatly my husband
loved me enough to give up the citylife. As a child, I always dreamt
of having my own dog. Unfortunately I couldn’t realize this dream until
I met my husband and we started living together. In October 1997, my dream
finally came true – our first dog moved in with us.

At that time, I did not know as much about dogs as I do now and we ended up
deciding to get a half year old Siberian Husky. Soon we began facing some
serious problems and I therefore saw the need to start learning about
socialisation and training of dogs and also the behavior of dogs in general.
So eventually I began a job as a trainer at a dog school in 1999,
and graduated in Veterinarian Psychology at the ATN in Zurich in 2001.
Sepperl (our Husky) was a real hunter, no fence was too high
and no deer track too old. He was running away, whenever he had the opportunity.
Sometimes for hours – sometimes for several nights. I participated in a dog school
with him. Unfortunately, they couldn’t help us with his drive for hunting and
therefore I started to look for solutions myself. At some point my desire for
a dog which I didn’t have to watch out for all the time and that I could take
for relaxed walks became stronger and stronger.

I first heard about Australian Shepherds through the internet,
but what I was reading then seemed too good to be true.
So I began to talk to Aussie-Owners and my impression started to change a bit.
But, nevertheless I was fascinated of this breed and I didn’t want to give up
my idea about having an Australian Shepherd of my own one day.

My husband didn’t like the idea to get a second dog at all
and somehow the wish was pushed aside again.
Unfortunately, Sepperl died in September 2000, only 3,5 years old
of Meningitis. Loosing him was very painful and as much as I had
blaimed him sometimes, I terribly missed him. At first we couldn’t imagine
having another dog, but soon I knew, I didn’t want to live without one.

Therefore it was end of February 2002 still we was able to live together with
a dog again.
It took quite a while until Ranger was born but he was worth every second of
waiting for him.
Who didn´t fall in love with this tiny teddybear???

And where one Aussie lives the second one doesn´t neet long to come along.
And therefore little Angel came to us in May 2003.
